KCl Substitute or Potassium Chloride Substitute works as a temporary Clay Stabilizer by inhibiting clay swellings and mitigation. It performance is guaranteed by exemplary results in Capillary Suction Tests and Roller Oven Testing.

KCl Substitute is a liquid product designed specifically for use as a replacement for solid potassium chloride (KCl).  KCl Substitute offers superior performance at a lower cost -- without the handling, mixing and disposal problems associated with bag KCl. Because KCl Substitute is nonsurface active, it does not effect wettability, create foaming problems, or cause emulsions. KCl Substitute is compatible with all known water based frac fluids, crosslinkers and breakers. It does not adversely affect fluid pH. The use of KCl Substitute on the fly can eliminate premixing and leftover saltwater disposal problems.

Application:
KCl Substitute  should be used at 4.0gal per 1000 gallon of fluid where 2% KCl has been employed. More or less can be used, depending on the clay type and content of the specific zone in question.

Compatibility:
KCl Substitute is compatible with cationic and nonionic additives. A compatibility test is advised before use with anionic and amphoteric additives.
